Tuxedo Park Luxury Homes and Real Estate

The premier Atlanta neighborhood of Tuxedo Park is located in the heart of Buckhead in Fulton County, between Interstate 75 and Peachtree Road. It is also just north of downtown Atlanta, thereby serving as an easy commute for city professionals.

Perhaps what sets Tuxedo Park apart from some of the other superb Buckhead communities is the rolling, park-like setting and the natural environment which surrounds the homes and neighborhoods. The large lots and gorgeous, almost untouched, surroundings give this community a truly fairy-tale ambience.

The earliest settlers to Tuxedo Park were the Creek Indians, with later settlers arriving in the 1800s during the time that the Paces Ferry Road served as a main route to the Chattahoochee River. Union troops used this route during the Civil War to capture the city of Atlanta.

The area remained rural until wealthy Atlanta families began using the area as a spot for their summer homes. Many of the families built along the Paces Ferry Road and used the area as a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Charles H. Black, a wealthy Atlanta landowner eventually bought 300 acres to develop what is now Tuxedo Park.

Although many of the original, grand estates were eventually subdivided, Tuxedo Park still remains a home to enormous estates and spectacular grounds.

Tuxedo Park Schools and Shopping

Tuxedo Park is served by some of Atlanta’s finest schools, which include Jackson Elementary, Sutton Middle School and Northside High School.

Nearby shopping and dining can be found at Lenox Mall and Phipp’s Plaza. In addition, downtown’s fabulous array of dining, shopping, entertainment and nightlife are just minutes away.
