Midtown Atlanta Georgia Real Estate

Midtown, better known as one of Atlanta’s “intown” neighborhoods, is situated near the commercial and financial districts of the downtown area, as well as the affluent residential area of Buckhead.

Midtown is often considered to be the epicenter of Atlanta’s art and culture scene, and is also home to about one-third of the city’s high-rises. A beautiful mix of skyscrapers, residential neighborhoods and busy thoroughfares, Midtown boasts a quickly growing population and skyrocketing property values as a result.

Some of the well-known locations in Midtown include Peachtree Street, which is dotted with high-rise condominiums, office space, bustling shopping areas and four-star hotels, Piedmont Park, which boasts an expansive green space, and the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which is part of Piedmont Park.

Midtown Atlanta Real Estate and Luxury Homes

Because of its prime location and close proximity to the downtown area, Midtown has seen substantial growth in the last few years. A fine example of this is the recent construction of the Seventeenth Street Bridge, which connects Midtown to the west side of Atlanta and Atlantic Station, Midtown’s newest mixed-use development and flourishing neighborhood.

The quality of life in Midtown is supported by the Midtown Alliance, which was formed in 1978 by a group of volunteers, employees and members of the community. Many of the activities of the Alliance are aimed at neighborhood safety, encouraging arts and education programs and supporting local community leaders.

The master plan of the Alliance, called Blueprint Midtown, aims at continuing Midtown’s growth into the future. The sights and sounds of Midtown are wildly popular, with Atlantans and visitors flocking here to enjoy multicultural cuisine, great shopping and plenty of arts programs.

Fondly referred to as “Atlanta’s Heart of the Arts,” Midtown is home to the Fox Theatre, the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Ballet and the Atlanta Symphony, just to name a few.

Midtown is served by the Atlanta Public Schools, which include Morningside Elementary School, Inman Middle School and Henry W. Grady High School. The Georgia Institute of Technology is also located in the Midtown area.

The real estate in Midtown is as eclectic as the area itself, as it features a nice mix of newly constructed homes of well over $1 million, beautifully remodeled 1920s farm houses and lovingly restored bungalows from the same period. Fixer uppers can be priced from the mid $200,000s, although most of the single-family homes in Midtown are generally priced in the $400,000 to $500,000 range.
