Finding Homes For Sale in Marietta

Because Marietta offers such a wide range of homes for sale and so many different choices of homes, we've built our website to narrow down your search to find exactly the home in Marietta that you're looking for. On this page you can choose your price range, you can then sort the list of homes for sale by price (highest to lowest and lowest to highest) or you can view homes in the order of the time they were listed (newest listings first or oldest listings first). Many buyers like to see homes as soon as they come on the market while others like to see homes that have been listed for sale longer.

The Appeal of Marietta Historic Homes and Real Estate

Marietta was incorporated in 1834, 13 years before Atlanta. In 1864, a large portion was ordered burned by General William Tecumsah Sherman, as he and his army roared through on "Sherman's March to the Sea". Downtown Marietta was destroyed, but 400 buildings, including 5 churches, were permitted to remain.

The downtown was rebuilt into what is now known as the historic Marietta Square. The train depot, burned by Sherman's men, now hosts the Marietta Welcome Center, where you can find out more about historic homes in Marietta and get tour maps of the area.

Some Marietta homes for sale are historic treasures, being constructed before or in the wake of General Sherman's "March to the Sea".

Steeped in history, yet socially progressive, Marietta is also a city of employment opportunity, with the Lockheed Martin aeronautics manufacturing plant and Dobbins Air Reserve Base employing a large number of Marietta residents.

Marietta Square is also the location of one of Tina Fountain, REALTORS corporate offices. We are proud to call Marietta home and we'd love to help you call it home, too.
