About Atlantic Station

This 138-acre, master-planned community, which is essentially a city-within-a-city, sits upon the former Atlantic Steel Company, which is located in the northwest section of the Midtown area. A once-polluted steel site, Atlantic Station is now a thriving community of middle and upper-income housing, world-class restaurants and retailers and office space.

Atlantic Station is built upon the principals of quality construction, energy conservation and environmental sustainability.

The Atlantic Station project begun in 1997, and is now being overseen by Jacoby Development and AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corporation. The project is estimated at $2 billion.

Atlantic Station is billed as a “walking community,” which means that residents can use the wide sidewalks to walk to work, or to head out and shop, eat or enjoy the outdoor spaces.

Once completed, Atlantic Station will encompass 12 million square feet of residential, office and retail space, and 11 acres of public parks.

It will provide homes for 10,000 people and employment for 30,000 people, and will attract millions more with excellent shopping and entertainment experiences. More than 5,000 homes are currently in development.

Developments like Atlantic Station are new to Atlanta, a community that has historically thrived on big-box shopping centers, acre-lot subdivisions and single-use office parks. The success of the residential condos is not exclusive to Atlantic Station, however. Atlanta is enjoying a “condo phenomenon” of young buyers seeking living spaces in lively, urban markets.
