Atlanta Botanical Gardens Orchid Daze
Tina Fountain Realtors News, Atlanta Attractions
As we Atlantans try to make it through what has proved to be a colder winter than Southerners typically like to bear, we can now see the light at the end of the chilly tunnel as Spring festivals and events begin to be announced. One of the first ones being especially colorful and, well, tall. Orchid Daze: Towers of Flowers is coming to Piedmont Park's Botanical Garden, and the display will be rather out of the ordinary for these usually close to the ground beauties.
Beginning on February 6 and continuing through April 11, the exotic orchids will literally be climbing the walls in a carpet-like form sure to awe anyone that steps into the fragrant and color-bursting Fuqua Orchid Center. The award-winning designer Tres Fromme of the Mesa Design Group refers to the orchid exhibit as "vibrant wallpapers and flowing banners." Featuring 10,000 specimens and boasting the title of the largest exhibit of its kind in the U.S., Orchid Daze has been an annual Botanical Garden tradition since 2003.
In addition to being able to witness the gorgeous display of the Garden's 10,000 specimens, you can also take home your very own flowering beauty as local growers will be selling their orchids in the Hardin Visitor center during the exhibit.

We are now seeing the sun again in Costa Blanca with a noticeable increase in air temperature. It has been a harder winter than we normally get and it is good to see the spring at last

Speaking about flowers in Georgia, The Masters is right around the corner...I know it has been a especially cold winter and I just saw a picture with a lot of recent snow on Augusta Golf Course. It will be interesting, especially if the philanderer is in the field! Great looking site!

Fast fact (my mother is an orchid judge): If you added all flowering plants together - most of them would be orchids. They are the largest family of flowering plants. It's surprising that they are so many orchid types but they still somehow feel rare and precious. Could the same be said about certain types of real estate?

Since I have a black thumb when it comes to growing orchids, I really appreciate the beauty of shows like this. (Just killed my last orchid here at home...
... but I keep trying.) However, I'm great with African Violets.... so if you're ever in Austin in March, you should check out our African Violet Show in March. We just had it last week...the 42nd annual one!...and it was gorgeous.

It is nice to attend in Botanical Garden or Garden Festival and see the beautiful arrangement of orchids and flowers. It shows how a green palm person take good care of those plants. My father is a Botanist and he loves spending time with his plants at the gardens. Hope I could teat him to this kind of festival in your country.
